Turbocharged Hayabusa 1300cc bike engined Saxo with steering wheel paddle operated full throttle clutch-less upshifts and throttle blip clutch-less downshifts.
The Throttle Blip is usually mounted within 1 metre of the carbs/throttle bodies. The powerful solenoid pushes the butterflies open by a few degrees to reduce the load on the gearbox enabling a lower gear to be selected. The timing and duration of the pulse to the solenoid is fully adjustable with the program button on the control box. The amount of throttle rotation is also adjustable. A threaded cable adjuster replaces the original tickover adjusting screw.

The control/compressor box (1) can be mounted up to 3 metres away from the ram. The blue air pipe connects the compressor to the pressure sensor (2), air tank, air gauge and solenoid operated air valves. The pipe is easy to work with and connects using tee pieces and pipe clips.

Steering Wheel Shift Paddles, adjustable for pressure and position. On this unfinished installation we can see the air pressure gauge and the blue air pipe supplying it. The input signals are supplied to the control box via the grey coiled wire.

 

 

The top arrow points to the solenoid operated air valves which should ideally be close to the ram to save air being wasted due to long air pipes.

 

The bottom arrow points to the ram which is mounted to the chassis and a lever which is connected to the splined shaft of the gearbox. This particular installation is to a demo car so also has the conventional mechanical gearshift fitted (for customer comparison) which connects to the other side of the splined shaft lever, so looks more complex than normal.
Air Tank can be mounted anywhere within the blue pipe work. A typical pressure setting is 80psi although up to 140psi can be used.
