Air-shifter.
A pneumatic ram/cylinder is controlled by handlebar buttons/levers
through a control box to move the gear lever. The air is provided
by a miniature compressor which is controlled and regulated by the
control box. This was initially developed for riders with limited
foot or ankle movement wanting to return to road biking. With add-ons
such as sensors for full throttle quick-shifts and air reservoirs
to enable fast multiple down shifts, the Air-shifter is suitable for
many other vehicles and motorsports.
How
It Works:- The
control box is constantly watching the handlebar /
steering wheel shift buttons / paddles (every 1000th
of second) waiting for the signal to either upshift,
downshift or select neutral.

1. Upshifts..
pressurised air (which is adjustable) is fed to the gear
lever ram for a preset time (also adjustable) typically
60 milliseconds, which moves the gear lever to select the
next gear.

Downshifts work in the same way using either the downshift
button or a combination of clutch microswitch and up-shift
button (various combinations available)

Neutral selection is done by keeping the downshift button
pressed for 2 seconds after reaching 1st gear. This will
send a smaller (again adjustable, typically 20 milliseconds)
duration of pressurised air to the gear lever ram allowing
the lever to move a shorter distance

Quick-shift
ignition cut. For
motor sports use, the Air-shift can be improved further
by incorporating quick-shift software and hardware. This
gives all the advantages of the quick-shifter with no physical
effort required, just the press of a button for lightening
quick clutchless up-shifts. Included
in the same kit is an air reservoir to enable up to 5 consecutive
downshifts. This is a must when braking from a fast top
gear straight into a much slower 1st gear corner.
Throttle
Blip.Fully
programmable to allow perfectly timed smooth clutchless
down-shifts. This is achieved using a powerful solenoid
to rotate the throttle butterflies by a few degrees.
