Further
reason for increased rider confidence during cornering is
the fact that the throttle position doesn't have to be disturbed
every gear change (especially tricky when on the limit of
tyre grip and wet track surface). This is more difficult to
do without the quickshifter as the throttle has to be shut
off every gear change upsetting the front to rear balance
of the bike and loosing any finely tuned throttle position
setting. Good examples of hard acceleration with severe lean
angles (on U.K. circuits) are Mallory Park's Chicane and Gerrards,
Brands Hatch's
Clearways and Surtees and Thruxton's long fast sweeping curves.
